Resident fellow Ché Perez and Advisory Board members Ira Baumgarten and Russell Bennett recently contributed their time to a land art installation entitled Blued Trees Symphony, a project of eco-artist Aviva Rahmani. The local portion of the installation is few thousand feet south of Burden Lake. Trees in the path of a proposed natural gas pipeline are painted with a sine wave pattern in an arrangement bringing together landscape, music and art. Likewise, the project blurs the boundaries of federal copyright, environmental and eminent domain law. A related petition asks the county legislature to pass a bill providing protection for water wells in the path of the pipeline. We would very much appreciate it if you would take a minute to sign.
