Arts Letters & Numbers has been hosting 13 artists from diverse backgrounds for a two week Residency Intensive entitled “A Third Thing”. The continuing conversation has been enriching for everyone involved creating new and unexpected pathways in work and creative practice.
This Friday the interdisciplinary works created, will be on view at the House on the Hill
1543 Burden Lake Road, Averill Park, NY
Tertium Quid: landscape cuts color

The core principle of this program intensive is to create a situation where participants are inhabiting the search for the unknown between the known; for works that emerge from the liminal; in the cracks and the spaces between one and the other. Between cuts and color, landscape and cuts, color and landscape. Between all of them, and is none of them, becoming a third thing.
The program has been encouraging both individual and collaborative works that emerge relationally within this undefined generative conceptual field. It has consisted of a series of sessions, conversations and observations, led by the Arts, Letters & Numbers program developers Che Perez, Frida Foberg and Rikke Jørgensen, and invited visiting artists Robert Dalton Harris and Chris Rose. Each contributor introduced diverse understandings of the subjects and shared ways of looking at and thinking with the in-between of color, cuts and landscape.
Please join us this Friday to meet the artists and their works. We will start in the afternoon to catch the last of the sunlight.
The following performances will take place:
4:30pm Julia Rose Sutherland
6:00pm Nathalie Audin
7:00pm Ida Liedl
