This Friday, two of our current Artists in Residence will be sharing their works. Ruby Jayaseelan has just begun her two month residency, and will give you an insight in her ongoing works. Jeremy Wood has been working intensively for the last two weeks, and is now on his last days in residence. Rather than a formal exhibition, they will create a meditative experience. This will be a the last opportunity to see Jeremy before he heads back to Ohio, and if you haven't gotten to know Ruby yet, this is the time!
Finding Focus by Jeremy Wood
My work is meditative by nature and with this series I set out to create an environment that facilitates the viewer to the endeavor of finding focus and solitude. My goal is to create an energy that is translated to the viewer through color, shape and material.
Dhara by Ruby Jayaseelan
An ongoing exploration of anatomy and its energy through charcoal and movement, Dhara, literally translated, is the constant flow of a substance. It explores the circular flow of energy, around, in and out of our bodies. A research and work in progress since 2015, Dhara has evolved from exploring the physical anatomy to an energy awakening exercise for the soul through Eastern philosophies like the 7 Chakras, Qi, Yin and Yang, Mudras, etc. The work aims to keep evolving organically and holistically.
