At Arts Letters and Numbers we are constantly searching to join forces with other institutions to address our urgent shared cultural missions of fostering and renewing spaces of transformation through education and ineffable artistic experiences. There are people, institutions and communities across all disciplines and across the globe that are increasingly confronted by the need for new models of asking the extraordinarily complex questions of our time. We have been fortunate so far to have collaborated with institutions and groups of people making a real difference in lives through gathering people together with these shared goals, to create works that reach much further than any one person could imagine.
The original Faith Mills that is now home to Arts, Letters and Numbers sits on the bank of the Wynantskill Creek that flows west to the Hudson River where one can sail to any port-of-call in the world. It is only fitting then that ALN has become a creative focal point of connection between the local community and the artist-activist-adventurers of the world.
ALN hosts weekly film nights, monthly exhibits and installations, seasonal concerts and workshops and other special events where the visiting artists and local residents have an opportunity to mingle, play and create together. In return the local community has extended an open invitation to all visiting resident artists to a weekly discussion, a Ping-Pong night and an open house breakfast.
