Save the Mill over 4th of July
If you still are debating about what to do over the weekend, you should pack your bag with the necessary belongings to spend a weekend with us at Arts Letters & Numbers.
We have a house full of creative minds from around the world, and we are pushing for brining the soul of our organization - the Mill - back in business. Tremendous effort has been put in to this over the last weeks, and this weekend we are doing a big push. Our ground floor, which was once a storage, has now been cleared out and is ready to be re-inhabited.
If you want to be part of building this place, to once again be a place for creative explorations, now is a very good time! Arts Letters & Numbers are built by everyone who has ever been here, and that is the foundation of the organization.
When coming here you will be part of our team. We spend the days focusing on developing a beautiful code compliant space that will give space for all disciplines. With the mindset that everyone is a teacher and everyone is a student, we don't ask you to be an expert in any field, we only ask you to share what you know and seek what you not yet know.
For this specific weekend we aim to work on refurbishing the mill windows, arrange our barn wood into a stage, build a new kitchen and keep on searching for the parts we might not yet know that we need. Even though this will be a weekend aimed for physical building, it will also be a weekend for social interactions. In the evenings we will gather to create great meals and make bonfires. We will also make sure to take a swim in the lake.
We have a number of beds available and also space on the grounds for putting up a tent. Please bring what you need for a weekend away from your dailylife.
You can either arrive via car, bus or train. The closest station is Albany (Greyhound) and Albany/Rensselear (Amtrak). If you choose to travel via bus or train, we will strongly encourage you to arrive at noon or 9pm, in order for us to pick you up at the station.
