A Four-Semester Class (eight weekly sessions each)

Wednesdays | 1:00-4:00PM | $350 –  $1,550

/details

Led by interdisciplinary artist and educator Paria Shahverdi, this comprehensive four-semester drawing program offers a progressive exploration of drawing, beginning with fundamental techniques and advancing toward more complex approaches to artistic practice.

Designed to develop both technical proficiency and creative independence, the course combines practical exercises, live demonstrations, visual presentations, and discussions of significant artists and their work. Participants will explore different methods of observation, representation, and experimentation while developing a deeper understanding of drawing as both a technical discipline and a means of personal expression.

Throughout the program, students will engage with a variety of instructional approaches, including guided drawing exercises, demonstrations, presentations, artist references, books, and visual materials. These resources will introduce participants to different artistic traditions, techniques, and ways of thinking about drawing, encouraging them to develop their observational abilities and expand their individual creative practices.

Each eight-week semester builds upon the knowledge and experience gained in the preceding one, allowing students to gradually strengthen their skills, expand their visual vocabulary, and develop increasingly sophisticated approaches to drawing.

The four semesters are designed as a continuous educational progression, with students completing each level before advancing to the next.
