We were excited to host an onsite concert, a gift from Creative Music Intensive faculty and visiting artists Michael Harrison, Elliot Cole, Ritvik Yaparpalvi and Payton MacDonald. The concert was opened to all ALN onsite residents, local community and everyone came to ALN on the 21st, as well as all online participants of CMI 2022.

As a living legend, Terry Riley’s career as composer / performer has spanned over 6 decades starting in the San Francisco Bay Area in the late 50’s up to the present time in Japan. On Friday August 26th, 2022, Terry Riley and Sara Miyamoto offered an online zoom live concert from Japan. The concert was free and open to all thanks to Terry Riley's graciously offering!

The 2022 Summer Creative Music Intensive was a two-week hybrid program ( In-person & Online ) held from August 14th – 28th at Arts Letters & Numbers. Participants were immersed in the creative process of making and performing music, exploring new approaches and developing individual and collaborative works as creative artists.

On Saturday, December 7th, our house on the hill was filled with performance, the second St. Rocco’s Electronic Art and Music (STREAM) salon, by Jack Wright + Zach Darrup (Philadelphia), Michael Peters (Oneonta), Matt Weston (Albany) and Alexis Bhagat (Albany).

During Summer at ALN, the musicians in residence were invited to perform at the Art Center of the Capital Region.

On Sunday June 2nd, our artist in residence Andriy Sovetov has shared a recital on the grand piano in the House at Arts Letters & Numbers.

On June 1st, we had a concert and dance of jazz/soul/folk music by two Philadelphia-based artists Cecilia Ferneborg and Dave Shepherd at the Barn in Arts Letters & Numbers. From the side porch of the House, the fire and the barn were filled up with lights, sound, and energy.

On Sunday February 3rd in Arts Letters & Numbers, we had a wonderful chance to be the first to experience the new works by pianist Sophia Subbayya Vastek and electronic artist David Ibbett.

KOI Collective was formed in August 2018 by three liked-minded composers from Oberlin Conservatory – Soomin Kim, Kari Watson and Natsumi Osborn – and works to promote and celebrate women, trans and non-binary composers through collaborative projects and community outreach.

In February, musicians and artists came together to participate in the first ever Creative Music Intensive at Arts Letters & Numbers, part of our new Sessions series.

On Friday July 28 the concert "Cello Constellations" filled the salon at House on the Hill with beautiful tunes, featuring composer/pianist Michael Harrison & cellist Clarice Jensen with Anirban Roy Chowdhury on tabla. 

Ever since the beginning of Arts Letters & Numbers, music has been an important part in building the program.

On March 25, our Artists in Residence came together and invited the community to experience their creations.

Going back in time at the House on the Hill, we opened the doors to a the speakeasy salon from the 1920’s.
